That’s right. Ignore them. The Westboror Baptist Church is coming to Seattle next week and lots of well intentioned people are planning counter protests. I strongly suggest going about your business like a normal day. The group is a cult. They come form Kansas and they spread hate where ever they go. They protest funerals of [...] An outspoken gay rights group called, Bash Back! staged a demonstration at Mount Hope Church in Michigan. According to the article, “Mount Hope Church has filed a federal lawsuit against a group of protesters who disrupted a Sunday morning service Nov. 9 with shouts, same-sex kissing, fliers and a banner that proclaimed: “It’s okay to be gay.” The gay marriage debate is no longer just about civil rights for a minority group of Americans. The gay marriage debate is about the vary foundations of our government. Should we maintain our system of religious freedom by granting ULC ministers and other religions the right to perform legally recognized same-sex marriages? Or should we throw the First Amendment away just so those who do not agree with same sex marriage can get there way? Are you willing to take the risk that your religious perspective will survive without the First Amendment? I’m not. |
